Q: What is a “Happy Visit?”
A: A Happy Visit is Dr. Owens’ special first visit for young children. We want to make them feel as comfortable as possible, and we never force ourselves on patients. Our Happy Visit helps to insure that your child’s first dentist visit is as pleasurable as possible.
Q: What is the best way to bleach my teeth?
A: At-home tray whitening kits are good, although a KöR® Whitening from a dentist can be the most effective.
Q: Is a one-appointment crown better?
A: No, unless you’re in a hurry. A dental ceramicist makes a crown much more accurately than a machine.
Q: Isn’t a cleaning just a cleaning?
A: No, A healthy mouth cleaning is called a prophylaxis, and effectively prevents disease. Owens Family Dentistry offers healthy, professional cleaning at the hands of a qualified and experienced dental hygienist. Teeth whitening is also available as a cosmetic service.
Q: What kind of x-rays do you take?
A: Dr. Owens has invested in a state-of-the-art dental x-ray machine that provides the best images of teeth and facial structure that can be obtained with modern technology. In addition, this machine, the The ProMax S3 Digital Imaging System uses low-dose radiation technology to provide you with the safest levels of exposure possible.
Q: Do you accept my insurance?
A: Yes, unless your insurance provider requires you to go to a dentist they have chosen for you. Learn more on our Insurance Information page.
Q: What if I have to cancel an appointment?
A: If you need to cancel an appointment at Owens Family Dentistry, you must notify us at least 24 hours in advance. Though considerations will be made for emergency situations, failure notify us of a needed cancellation at least 24 hours before your appointment may result in a cancellation fee. With adequate prior notice, we are usually able to fill your canceled slot with new appointment – often someone who is in pain and in need of emergency treatment. Without adequate cancellation notice, a missed appointment means lost opportunity for everyone involved.
